The pigmentation is what catches my attention. The colours as blendable and buildable, with the shimmers having real impact. The creamy feel and easy application also make this an approachable palette when I want a finished look without wrestling with complicated colour combinations. Its compact size is another bonus, especially for a handbag or weekend makeup bag.
03. Profusion Cosmetics Nude Bliss 21 Shade Eyeshadow Palette
Big-Palette Beauty Without the Big-Palette Price
I’m always slightly suspicious when an eyeshadow palette promises masses of colour for relatively little money, but Profusion continues to make a convincing case for affordable beauty. What immediately wins me over here is the sheer choice: there’s enough variety to take my makeup from an understated everyday eye to something considerably more dramatic.
The formula is the pleasant surprise. Across Profusion palettes, quality pigmentation and easy blending, and I particularly like that the mattes tend to be buildable rather than depositing an intimidating block of colour immediately. The metallics and shimmers bring the glamour, with impressive all-day wear.
It isn't luxury perfection. Some sparkling shades can feel chunky and create fallout, while certain metallics perform noticeably better with a damp brush.
04. Landmoon Mini NUDE COLOR 2
Six Shades, Zero Fuss: The Little Nude Palette Made for Everyday Eyes
I have a soft spot for compact palettes that cut out the colours I’ll never use, and LANDMOON’s Nude Mini does exactly that. Its six smoky taupe and brown mattes create a beautifully understated wardrobe for everything from barely-there daytime definition to a more sculpted smoky eye.
What I particularly like is the tonal simplicity. Rather than overwhelming me with twenty similar shades, I can quickly choose, blend and build. The palette is also genuinely handbag-friendly, with a built-in mirror that makes it particularly practical for travelling or touch-ups. The formula is promoted as highly pigmented, waterproof and long-lasting. The limitation is obvious: this is an all-matte, neutral edit. If I want sparkling lids, vivid colour or lots of creative choice, I’ll need another palette alongside it.
05. CATKIN 9 Color Eyeshadow Palette
Almost Too Pretty to Use — But the Shadows Deserve Their Moment
I’ll admit it: CATKIN had me at the packaging. This nine-colour palette looks more like something I’d display on my dressing table than tuck into a makeup drawer, but thankfully there’s substance behind all that beauty. The combination of mattes and luminous shimmers gives me plenty of scope for softly polished daytime eyes or something richer for evening.
Once my brush goes in, the shadows feel smooth and buildable rather than aggressively pigmented, which I actually enjoy for controlled everyday makeup. The shimmers are the stars for me, delivering gorgeous light-catching sparkle, while I can compliment the pigmentation, colour selection and luxurious presentation.
06. rom&nd Better Than Palette
K-Beauty Eyes Made Easy — Soft Colour With Seriously Gorgeous Sparkle
I can see why rom&nd’s Better Than Palette has developed such a following. Rather than hitting me with aggressively intense colour, its ten coordinated shades are designed for softly layered, beautifully blended eyes — exactly the kind of polished K-beauty finish I’d happily wear every day.
What really wins me over is how effortlessly the colours work together. The attractive shade combinations and blendability, while the pigmentation is intentionally buildable rather than overpowering. The glitter and shimmer shades are the scene-stealers: wonderfully light-catching and capable of transforming a restrained daytime eye into something far more glamorous.
There is a trade-off. I found the lighter mattes too subtle, particularly noticeable on deeper complexions, and powder or glitter fallout crops up in reviews. I’d therefore choose the colourway carefully and build the shadows gradually.
07. KIKO Milano Master Eyeshadow Palette 01, Palette With 15 Matte And Metallic Eyeshadows
High-Street Price, High-End Performance — KIKO’s Little Palette Has Serious Glamour
I’m impressed by just how much KIKO Milano packs into this beautifully compact nine-pan palette. With matte, pearly metallic, marbled and sparkling finishes, it gives me the freedom to create a softly polished daytime eye and then dial up the glamour for evening without reaching for another palette.
The real attraction for me is the formula, the pigmentation and buttery blendability, compares favourably with considerably more expensive palettes. I also love the polished presentation and built-in mirror; it feels far more special than its price suggests.
My main reservation is size, anyone expecting generously sized pans may be disappointed. Yet for travelling or slipping into my makeup bag, that petite format becomes an advantage.
08. MAYBELLINE The 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
Refreshingly Affordable
I can understand why Maybelline’s The Nudes has become something of a drugstore classic. Twelve neutral shades give me a genuinely useful wardrobe of browns, taupes, golds and deeper smoky tones, with enough matte and shimmer options to move effortlessly from understated office makeup to a more dramatic evening eye.
What I like most is its versatility. The darker and shimmer shades tend to deliver the strongest payoff, while the coordinated colours make experimenting remarkably straightforward.
Where it loses points is consistency. Some lighter shades lack punch, and the mattes can be harder to blend. I’d definitely reach for an eye primer too: I find it improves both pigmentation and staying power considerably. That said many of my friends say it’s a palette they’ve bought more than once.
